Well... was hoping this would be something like “Instead of outsourcing the housework, maybe the (often male) partner who does less of it should do their fair share, to help save their marriage!” ...But no. There literally isn’t even an opinion being stated here.

Neither me nor my wife enjoy cleaning since we both work full time and are exhausted afterwards. We decided to hire help once a week and it's been great so far. Do what works for you and your relationship 🤷🏽‍♂️

For sure - but you’re both on equal footing there. I speak for a large portion of couples for whom that type of work falls on the shoulders of one individual more than the other, even when they both work.

I was also hoping to see another opinion in this article from what I’d already been reading - but there wasn’t one, which seems pointless to me.

I mean, I agree with the statement that "in most households, women bare a disproportionate amount of the work". The article just doesn't seem like it's about that. It's basically asking "how much is too much to outsource", not claiming that "outsourcing is the solution".

I can’t believe I wasted a free article on this. The author was just asking me to do their homework for them.

🇨🇺 In today's world, you should definitely outsource ally cooking (with takeout) & cleaning (with maid services). That way, you relieve stress on yourself while contributing to the economy.

Turns out that, here in Brazil, we inherited such a complex slavery culture, with such close social relations between owners and slaves, that even after the end of slavery (1888) people are still used to have employees working at home, doing those tasks that we don’t want to do.
