Even the plastic cup should disappear. All outlets should sell US made multi-usage mugs featuring their logo and offering a small rebate on the drink for using them.

True. But in a city like nyc people don’t always frequent the same place. There should be a general NYC city mug option that all shops have to be willing to use.
-
You are right. Great idea! Plastic or metal. As long as they are made in USA by companies like Tervis, Whitley, Polar, Bottleworks,...
-
How about made in New York State! Buffalo has a few abandoned factories and could use some jobs.
-
Of course.

Let’s hope they are offering paper straws instead. We have all seen the youtube videos, where rodents poop all over soda cans in retail storage. Drinking directly from such cans can get you leptospirosis! Straws serve a purpose!!!

Can someone explain how the much larger plastic cup isn't the top priority but the straw is?
-
I get it's shape may make it more likely for fish to ingest but isn't a plastic cup likely to get broken into smaller pieces as it gets trashed/disposed of and those smaller pieces may equally be ingested too?
