An estimated 6 million people nationwide are barred from voting because of felony convictions. A group of formerly incarcerated people is working to change that.https://nyti.ms/2KVOylz

The Constitution says nothing about denying citizens who have paid for their crimes (overwhelmingly non-whites) their civil http://rights.It  is obviously political racism.

Way past time to end these Jim Crow tactics of voter suppression. There is no rational or ethical reason to deny voting rights due to being convicted of a crime. It serves no rehabilitative or public safety purpose. Freedom Now.

"...conservative groups fiercely oppose the changes, arguing that people need to first prove that they are upstanding members of society before they can vote." Why? You don't have to be an upstanding member of society to be voted for.

Stooooopid shit. Voting should be mandatory for every citizen, regardless of where they sleep. Voting isn't a right, its a duty. Being incarcerated should not negate that duty.
