As streaming movies get better, the argument over whether it's better to watch movies in theaters or at home gets more complicated. Our film critic and our streaming film writer make their cases.https://nyti.ms/2KQVWyF

“..distractions of home viewing..” I love the movie experience. Or at least I used to. People in general have lost the basics of courtesy and etiquette. And yes, I’m talking mobile phones 🤮

If one has a good home theater setup, then watching at home is as good of an experience and you can even interrupt the movie which you can’t at the theater. The main benefit of the big screen is watching it with a large audience which can enhance the experience.

The best place to watch movies is at the #outdoorcinema! San Antonio offers at least 100 free outdoor movies a year!

At home you don't have to put up w/ others bad behaviors. At the theater you can enjoy things like Star Wars on the big screen, & then there's the 3-D. Movies in 3-D are really going to be the only draw anymore, especially considering the cost of going out to the movies.

Because people don't restrain their children or themselves inside theatres I rarely go to a theater. When I do go it is during school hours. Rude people talking and children kicking your seat in full view of their parents along with playing with their cell phones. Home for me.

When we were children they had ushers and if you were causing trouble they would warn you and kick you out if necessary. They could bring them back as far as I'm concerned.

For many heavy special effect action type movies the theater is the best place to watch. For many of us though the theater is not a comfortable option so having the ability to stream means we no longer have to wait to see new movies. 😁

What does often work is to tell a story as a multi-part series rather than in the confines of a 2 hour movie. Like #HowardsEnd on #Starz.
