I love this. You can take all the medicine and go through all the treatment but the food you consume is equally as important. Nice job, California!

So when @realDonaldTrump wants to do this it’s bad but when CA does it’s ok? 🤷‍♀️ You can’t make them eat the food either. If it’s like school lunches it will most likely get tossed. Also, you *could* be freeing up more $ for them to spend on chips & soda.

Trump wanted to deliver boxes of canned meat, canned veggies and canned fruit, as well as boxed milk. Not exactly healthy but certainly gross.

Yes, but not healthy and would not save on medical costs. Did you read the article?

Yes I did. I think its claims are dubious because you can’t guarantee the people will actually eat it. Ppl seem to be remarkably resistant to eating what they ought to, especially when the govt provides it.

Well it stated due to the program medical costs have gone down so someone is eating the food. And the govt isn’t, it is a non profit community center cooking and delivering the food.

The people are on Medi-Cal. The study has proven to cut down on medical costs thus saving money. Did you read the article before you tweeted your comment?

That is actually super smart. Every person they keep in their home, instead of a MediCal paid for facility saves nearly 100k a year.

Add it to the long list of programs that CA cannot pay for. Our unfunded liabilities are enormous. This will get very bad at some point. Three large pension systems, that if discounted at an accurate rate, would blow out our budget now. Never mind medical.
