Black mothers and infants in the United States are far more likely to die than their white counterparts. The disparity has everything to do with the lived experience of race.https://nyti.ms/2G6TfWj

Is it news that poverty, marginality and social asymmetry are a risk factor for morbidity and mortality??

You should try listening to the podcast before making that sweeping judgement.

So you want more white people to die. Thanks for clarifying.

Or we can just bring down the mortality rate for black mothers and infants through better access to quality healthcare...

Racism created the communities through discriminatory lending, pricing, and selling policies.

I notice the negative responses come from people with my skin color - white people. Segregation was not long ago, and racism continues to be a problem. It’s not a “Black” problem - it’s OUR problem. Stop ignoring the problem; not everyone has that privilege.

Always amusing seeing those who consistently look at people based on skin color... calling others out on racism...

You’re comment is just ambiguous enough for me to be uncertain of your intention, but I will risk an interpretation and respond accordingly (forgive & correct me if I’m off base): skin color is very much part of the issue, and I’m not about to pretend it isn’t.

I’m really disappointed that I used the wrong tense of “you’re” in my comment.

People that eat healthy foods are healthier than people that eat junk food. Skin color doesn't affect the health of a human being male or female.

.... Mortality of mothers and infants in the United States in general is abhorrent, and behind other westernized nations, because of the way we handle Healthcare. And of course, people of color are on the bottom. As opposed to the affluent who can "buy" survival...

A very real problem. An even bigger problem is the statistic that more black babies are killed by abortion in NY than born.
