Gina Haspel defended the CIA's torture of terrorism suspects but vowed that she would not start another interrogation program like the one developed under President George W. Bush after 9/11https://nyti.ms/2KNDgjk

Donald Trump told us when running for President he would “bring back torture and a hell of a lot worse.” Now, he nominates an expert torture manager. I am sure we are not about to torture anyone & break international law! #Haspel says #Trump would never ask her to do that!

We don't need a bed-wetter who gets so scared during an emergency that she ignores the Geneva Conventions and human decency. We need someone who will stay cool and remember who we are as a nation.

we should just take her word for it. after all it's not her fault. like a good nazi she 'was just following orders'. destroying evidence was 'incidental'.

Haspel was simply not believable in her statements about not torturing in the future or that Trump wouldn’t demand she do so. She really gave off a dishonest vibe to me. Not to be trusted.

As a Brit proud of my country for being allies of the US for so long in both our darkest hours, I'm deeply disappointed in and saddened by our American friends for legitimising torture after 9/11 :(
