Pulling a gun on someone buying mentos. Should be let go immediately. There I saved you an ‘investigation’.

I'll go a step farther...anyone who pulls a gun on someone STEALING a pack of mentos, should be let go immediately. Stealing is wrong, but you should NEVER point a weapon at anything you dont want destroyed. That's my gun motto.

This is exactly the problem. #Police are too quick to pull out a #guns. Nobody’s life is threatened by someone stealing mentos...which he actually paid for. The only threat was the coward officer, willing to end a life over candy. #JoseArreola #BlackLivesMatter #mentos

That video made me uncomfortable... the man was not trying to take the mentos.... something was wrong with that police officer...investigation is warranted

They pull guns on people with cell phones in their hands. They pull guns on people with NOTHING in their hands. This shouldn’t be surprising.

It's remarkable how little value a human life has to some people, being willing to shoot someone over a 1.19 is ridiculous if not morbidly sick.

But seriously, it's more about the shoot first ask questions later mentality. The cops mistaken perception of the situation could have resulted in a meaningless death. It would have been equally meaningless if someone ended up dying over candy worth 1.19.

Which part is rare? Cops unnecessarily drawing their weapons? Cops escalating unnecessarily? This all sounds typical to me! Maybe it’s the $1.19 mentos that you are considering rare. They were priced around $.85

How about @MentosUS getting #JoseArreola a year supply of Mentos? Just ridiculous that the cop felt it necessary to pull a gun on a human over a single roll of mints.

This is crazy. Even if he thought that guy had stolen the mentos he should have shown his badge, not his gun. There is nothing okay with how this was handled; there was nothing to be “handled”. Even the way he talked to the worker was overly aggressive, YOU SURE? Unbelievable.

That is why one should always ask for a bag and receipt, so as least it does not look like someone just took it off the Shelves. Imagine if we ban all the bags, more mistakes could happen.

I'm pretty sure the customer got a receipt but that wouldn't have made a difference given the cop's state of mind.

totally agree, but if let say a person flaunts or swirls his bag in front of these state of mind officers, at least they would have second thoughts about pulling a gun.
