Six year olds don't make this shit up. Why should we even discuss redemption for abusers? Where is the redemption for us, the survivors? When does our pain end, our world change?

false. ask any child welfare caseworker, abuse interviewer, law enforcement officer, etc. if they've ever seen a child coached to make accusations (perhaps by a bitter parent who lost custody like this mother). it happens more than you think. yes, I was a caseworker & saw this.

Being accused of child molestation is a life long label placed on someone if falsely accused. We need to be careful with this.

There are plenty of situations where people are coerced into making a false confession. I don’t believe this is the case here.

First off if I'm innocent I will fight to the death to defend myself in a court of law. So why plead guilty to make it go away? And no he should not be playing and those chanting his name would feel differently if it was their child who was molested.

Option 1: Plead guilty, slap on wrist, everything goes away in 5 years, life goes on. Option 2: Plead innocent, chance brother loses custody of niece, niece has to be questioned in trial, additional family drama, chance of going to juvy, and chance of being on registry for life.

Would recommend you read the following article by @kerryeggers in the Portland Tribune with an absolutely open mind & then reconsider what may or may not have actually happened:https://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/385703-274945-penalties-paid-heimlich-ready-to-return-for-beavers-baseball …

Trust me I have. And I have a VERY open mind about this case. I am very troubled with how it was handled by both sides five years ago. And now a lot of people are being hurt because of it (some who are guilty and some who are not, but it's impossible to know who is who).

Exactly. I have a daughter, so I don’t take this matter lightly. In fact I was quite angry when I first heard about it. However, @DannyJMoran & @johncanzanobft are known for being a bit flippant with their reporting practices, whereas I have yet to see that with @kerryeggers.

Screenshot of New York Times article. Headline is "He Was Convicted of Molesting a 6-Year Old. Should He Have a Future in Baseball?"
Image of a man walking along the third base line, his back to the camera, wearing white pants and the number #15 on his jersey (baseball uniform). His arms are up as if he's adjusting his baseball cap. He is mid stride.

Also you have clearly never been the recipient of an unsolicited nude. It’s awful. I’m 30 and if I got a nude from my uncle I would be traumatized. I can’t imagine how a SIX YEAR OLD would feel.

Of course this 15 year old new better. Of course it never should have happened. It’s easy to pile on and go with the crowd. If he committed suicide over it would that be ok. Because that is something what happens to kids stigmatized this way. Let him follow his dream.

The courts say he has completed his program. His parents are behind him. His team and coach supports him. I would certainly need to understand the story better before I would condemn a young man who claims he is innocent. What does he mean? What happened? Who saw what?
