Six year olds don't make this shit up. Why should we even discuss redemption for abusers? Where is the redemption for us, the survivors? When does our pain end, our world change?

false. ask any child welfare caseworker, abuse interviewer, law enforcement officer, etc. if they've ever seen a child coached to make accusations (perhaps by a bitter parent who lost custody like this mother). it happens more than you think. yes, I was a caseworker & saw this.
-
Being accused of child molestation is a life long label placed on someone if falsely accused. We need to be careful with this.
-
He plead guilty.
-
On bad legal advice to just make it go away.
-
LOL sure. He plead guilty to sexually abusing his 6 year old niece to make it go away.
-
I guess you're lucky & privileged enough to not have ever been in a situation in the legal system or have any dealings with the legal system at all!
-
There are plenty of situations where people are coerced into making a false confession. I don’t believe this is the case here.

First off if I'm innocent I will fight to the death to defend myself in a court of law. So why plead guilty to make it go away? And no he should not be playing and those chanting his name would feel differently if it was their child who was molested.
-
Option 1: Plead guilty, slap on wrist, everything goes away in 5 years, life goes on. Option 2: Plead innocent, chance brother loses custody of niece, niece has to be questioned in trial, additional family drama, chance of going to juvy, and chance of being on registry for life.
-
Ha! Right he plead guilty to protect the little girl and her father... Way to spin that. Pretend for a minute this guy plays for the ducks.... Now how do feel?
-
I would have the same opinion as I am not a fan of either team...

Would recommend you read the following article by
@kerryeggers in the Portland Tribune with an absolutely open mind & then reconsider what may or may not have actually happened:https://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/385703-274945-penalties-paid-heimlich-ready-to-return-for-beavers-baseball … -
Trust me I have. And I have a VERY open mind about this case. I am very troubled with how it was handled by both sides five years ago. And now a lot of people are being hurt because of it (some who are guilty and some who are not, but it's impossible to know who is who).
-
Exactly. I have a daughter, so I don’t take this matter lightly. In fact I was quite angry when I first heard about it. However,
@DannyJMoran &@johncanzanobft are known for being a bit flippant with their reporting practices, whereas I have yet to see that with@kerryeggers. - 2 more replies

Short answer: no. Long answer: fuck no, absolutely not, why is this even a questionpic.twitter.com/lQJrwjAFJH
-
Also, why did they tack those totally unnecessary two words onto the end of the question?

He MOLESTED HIS SIX YEAR OLD NIECE. Who the fuck cares about his career? When did child molestation become not a big deal? I thought that was the LITERAL ONLY THING we could all agree was bad, and then 2018 came along and WTF.
-
When he was 15. Is there a death sentence for 15 year olds. And we don’t know the details, he might have sent her a nude picture.
-
Also you have clearly never been the recipient of an unsolicited nude. It’s awful. I’m 30 and if I got a nude from my uncle I would be traumatized. I can’t imagine how a SIX YEAR OLD would feel.
-
Your kidding right? Get serious, 13 year old teens are being charged with sex crimes a register as sex offenders for sending their own pictures. And he was 15! Not 40 year old Uncle Tom.

Of course this 15 year old new better. Of course it never should have happened. It’s easy to pile on and go with the crowd. If he committed suicide over it would that be ok. Because that is something what happens to kids stigmatized this way. Let him follow his dream.
-
Stop protecting a pedophile. He did it, he knows he did and he should be tried and if the evidence proves it convicted to life without parole
-
The courts say he has completed his program. His parents are behind him. His team and coach supports him. I would certainly need to understand the story better before I would condemn a young man who claims he is innocent. What does he mean? What happened? Who saw what?
