Teens aren’t the problem. Have any of you met a teen lately? They’re focused on their resumes. Extracurriculars, volunteering, & unpaid internships on top of studies don’t leave time for much else. Don’t blame them for a bs system they didn’t create. FOH

Well, basic economics would indicate they should offer more pay to lure new employees, but we can't have that, can we?

Idk if it's the same but you can make more stacking shelves in Aldi (a supermarket), than working in a high stress, long hours shitty kitchen.

Teens I run into these days want white collar jobs and working in fast food isn’t glamorous enough for their instagram lives.

What wrong with wanting a better job? My first job at 16 was working in a pharmacy.

Many teenagers don’t have the work ethic to work in a fast food chain or better yet a diner. Waitressing is hard work, but people don’t want to believe that. Family owned diners are going to go extinct if chains keep growing and if the minimum wage keeps increasing.

Nah, they are not settling. The ones I know are working hard for jobs that pay more, provide better working conditions, and they don't settle for fast food chains. The article doesn't talk about the amount independent restaurants opening nowadays.

OK, as long as he has time to study & sleep. THere's no virtue in having to slog at three jobs, esp when one is full time.
