For decades, kids played on toxic ball fields in Red Hook. Some were closed in 2012, more in 2015. Locals wonder when the cleanup will start.https://nyti.ms/2roCfFG

The clean up will start when there is a majority white, upper middle class population around them. Until then, nothing will happen because they don't care about POC and the poor.

Meanwhile, under new regulations, more ballfields will be contaminated along with waterways

Let's locate Scott Pruitt's new office on the property. He has no problem with pollution.

There are quite a few ballfields in my area that are near or on top of old slag piles and waste from coal mines and steel plants, i wonder when/if the last time the soil was tested.

I'm sure if we look into who owns the influence on the property we will find that wealthy investors would rather scare everyone out of the area, so they can redevelop for the wealthy to use.

The cleanup will begin just as soon as we get an EPA director that actually cares about the planet! Then we have to pay the FEMA debt off. U.S. was 5 billion in the red last year before hurricane season. Then we have to pay Pension funds at last we still have to build the wall 😁
