As DNA test results are shared publicly, they become a tool for talking about race, often in ways that obscure its realitieshttps://nyti.ms/2FNxL0B

I love the ending sentence “turns out, dna tests reveal a lot about us, just not what they claim to”. No actually, it reveals exactly what it claims, your ancestors based on your DNA. This whole article screams “White is bad”

We need to have a populace which is educated enough to differentiate between the biological and sociological concepts of race, because these are two very different things.

To look at one's skin & decide I am superior or inferior to others because of my skin's hue is one of the most idiotic sociological idea since animals were created. Whether superior or inferior, the idea has a sharp inclination of fear. The individual is corrupt due to fear.

Absolutely correct. However, current theory states that race is a social construct. This does not negate the devastation caused by racism, but rather removes any justification for it based on flawed understanding of biology or sociology.

Differentiating humans by races is a social construct (thus created by society). It looks as if you intend that justification for it will/can be removed once society clearly comprehend biological / sociological. HUMANS ALL know there is no gene in the body that defines race.

So white people learning about their ancestry in a positive way overlooks the "grotesque aspects of their heritage"? You do know everyone's lineage has conquest and invasion in it right? Including PoC. Stop trying to make white people reject their identity.

If you trace each human being's DNA back far enough, you will find that we are all stardust. Not hippie everything-is-groovy, but literal dust from the stars. That is how I define my family tree, and no amount of hate-mongering will change that. 🗺
