to even purport to "overrule" hundreds of years of Supreme Court precedent on this very subject. It is just more of the same "GOP lawlessness" to advance the special interest agenda.

Just this: our Founding Fathers agreed upon a system of FEDERALISM where the Several States are SOVEREIGNS that can, in certain instances such as this, REGULATE THEIR OWN AFFAIRS. Here, aside from the illegality, there is NO COMPELLING STATE INTEREST for the Federal Government

in a way which (ahem) "actually lowers Health & Safety standards" in a not-so-veiled "give away" to the Oil & Gas market players. It is therefore UNPRECEDENTED on a myriad of levels.

Just this: it is patently UNCONSTITUTIONAL for the Federal Government to interfere with the State of CA's PLENARY POWER to REGULATE its OWN Health & Morals (i.e., per the Tenth Amendment's Police Power), much less- as here- in some subversive attempt to "preempt the field"

Raised in LA in the 60's-70's. Smog alerts regularly kept us inside during recess. Couldn't see down the block. Regulations turned it around. Evidence abounds. Stay strong California.

40% less lung capacity than others born elsewhere. We still have a bad smog problem. Does it make any sense to go backwards so kids born here could have a 50%+ less lung capacity? So more people can get & die earlier from COPD? Asthma? 4mil.+ die wrldwide. frm smog each yr.

If we return to the days of the Carbon Monoxide Alerts, where you could "see the air", this in addition to regular smog, we will have to leave SoCal. I barely survived then, with youth & much better health on my side. If born here you have a 40% less lung capacity than others.
