Women with breast cancer who have high-deductible health plans are delaying treatment. "What we see here is an unintended consequence of sharing costs," said one expert.https://nyti.ms/2KAZlBC

It is not an "inintended consequence". It is purposeful. Health insurance companies are in the business of NOT paying for health care. The longer patients put off treatment, the less they have to pay. There is no room for the profit motive in health insurance. #MedicareForAll

High deductibles are absolutely meant to discourage people from seeking medical care. As a breast cancer survivor I can tell you delaying treatment can be costly and/or fatal.

Same goes for co-payments...deliberately placed to discourage claims.

The problem isn't cost sharing, it's insurance companies greed.

I believe Koch Bro’s types convinced low/middle income people taxes are BAD. They’re currently trash talking the 🇨🇦system saying private sites w/b better. In my opinion it’s ALL about very wealthy paying LESS tax AND other wealthy getting into supplying the healthcare industry.

Being sick in America has mostly always been like this for people who can't afford good insurance. Apparently, Republicans want them all to die. Yes, it is deplorable.

Dems want to take care of the sick. Reps take their credit cards and then deny them medical attention. Health care is a right, not a product

No worries for House and Senate. WE PAY a 72% subsidy for THEIR med cov. Let’s free em from that. In the words of Paul Ryan “it would be a mercy”

If only "making America great again" hadn't meant making cancer a death sentence because of the cost of treatment again.
