If people will still vote for Trump, they are Trump. Democrats don’t need to win anyone back. Democrats need to go to the polls and vote.

Doubt very much that any Obama voters switched to Donald, that would be a drastic departure from democratic values. Trump " won" with the assistance of his Russian partners and red state voter suppression. He lost the popular vote and the fact that he feels compelled to defend

What he calls a victory screams conscienceness of guilt as do his denials re: Stormy Daniels and Russia. Democrats are democrats, not socialists. Republicans have destroyed what ever was left of any credibility the party had. There are no longer moderate republicans. They've been

Energize the base and forget about these jerks. They voted for a racist, grifter and they didn’t care who they threw under the bus.

If you energize the base, some of these people might come back. But you are right that there's no point in catering specifically to them.

Obama campaigned as an outsider who’d fight “the fat cats” and build a more equal economy. Trump campaigned as an outsider populist who’d fight for working people. I understand it, because my dad flipped from Obama-Trump, and was intitally torn between Bernie and Trump.

Except both men had histories we could check before the election, one guy was actually fighting to change and help people, the other was a slum lord born into his wealth.

You’re preaching to the choir, but here, I think is where things like educational level and a flat-out desire/need to believe in someone’s message of change comes in. Your slum lord is someone else’s model of American success—rightly or wrongly.
