Once Jasmine Harrison started getting acceptance letters, she grew more confident. “I felt if I can get into all of these,” she said, “where else can I get in?” The answer was 113 colleges.https://nyti.ms/2KuCEyS

No... she actually spent a total of $135.00 on all of her applications combined. She used the “Common App” etc. Actually, she is quite brilliant, thus all the acceptances and offers of full scholarships.

why would you pay that much money to submit those applications. That's like $7500 wasted

She spent a total of $135.00 on all applications. That fact may have been left out of this story. She is quite brilliant, thus all the scholarship offers. Belittling her is quite petty.

I didn't say that she's not smart or that she didn't deserve it, I'm just think it's stupid to submit applications to schools you know you're not gonna to go to

Application fees run $30 - $70 or more. So, she dropped $5 grand just to try and get in to all those? That's more than books cost for the whole degree...

She spent a total of $135.00 for all applications. She is brilliant and found a way to accomplish this using the Common App. Belittling her is quite petty, and not so brilliant.
