I'm not sure I agree with your suggestion that there is a rising tide of lslamaphobia in the UK. Sure there are some noisey racists, but there always have been. I live in an area with large Muslim community, and we're getting along just fine.

I'm not saying it's not. i'm saying usually what pp call north-africa is morocco, algeria, tunisia and eventually Lybia. Egypt counts as middle-East.

The paragon example that shatters the false narrative that British society is full of hatred and division. A remarkable man and an incredible talent.

It takes a bigot to write such an awful article.. Are you trying to ignite a conversation on his religious preference? Nobody sees him beyond his talent to the world he is a person who has talent to NYT he is a Muslim who has talent.. FYI there nothing wrong with being a Muslim

I'll take issue with being called a bigot, thanks very much. To this section of the NYT, he's a phenomenal footballer. But he also has a cultural significance. Discussing that fits literally no definition of bigotry.

Sports and games demolish all the artificial and created barriers of hatred and divide by bringing enemies across the line, and turning them into real friends. Better than any political diplomacy.

So, he's a good Muslim who plays sports and donates money. The article contained a picture of the mosque in Liverpool and a woman in a burqa walking nearby. As a good Muslim, he supports that, too.

Your article is not only misleading but extremely false. We have more of a problem with anti Semitism in this country not only from a political party ( labour) but also from Muslim communities in England. Do your research !

But why should Britain be fighting Islamophobia, a perfectly natural response to Islamist terrorism?

Wouldn't a world war 3 be a natural cultural response to world war 2? I mean you have to take revenge for those who did you wrong, right?

Not revenge, never. Islamophobhia is more about fear and dislike. That's what I meant. You misunderstood me. I condemn all violence, including that against Muslims. But some communities should self-introspect and reform.

If so, then would you consider "terrorism" a a natural response to foreign invasion? Like soviet invasion of Afghanistan and American invasion of Iraq? Wouldn't you consider "terrorism" a natural response in such situations?
