A pharmaceutical company paid millions of dollars to doctors. The company called it a “speaker program,” but prosecutors now call it something else: a kickback scheme.https://nyti.ms/2KygYSq

It's been going on for decades. Every doctors office looks like a NASCAR event with all the promo stuff everywhere. There's billions of dollars at stake.

Bone-chilling reading: ”The real target was not the audience but the speaker himself, who would keep getting paid to do programs if and only if he showed loyalty to Subsys. It was a quid pro quo or, as the Department of Justice later called it, a kickback.”

Is it something new ? This is what multinational pharma companies do in emerging markets to kill the generic drugs which are just 10% cost of the branded drugs and equally effective..

This goes on in every facet of the medical community. I was part of it. If u don’t do it this way u can’t be in the business because there is none. From MRI’s and XRays to IV Therapy. To All Prescriptions. To medical furnishings. It’s the way whole entire business works

A sick, incestuous relationship-- my worst shrink ever had a whole office overspilling with freebies & samples from Big Pharma reps, whom they call "detail men"-- all I got from my time with HIM was a roaring Ativan addiction which almost killed me. MDs in 2018 can't be trusted.
