Almost every able bodied person thinks that the ADA ended discrimination against the disabled. This is just one out of the thousands of examples that show how untrue that is. We have to fight the same fight everyday.

This is actually quite unbelievable. This is the sort of thing I would find difficult to believe without citation, because it is saddeningly shocking.

That's because it's easier for able bodied people to dismiss us disabled as liars than admit you are part of the problem and try to fix it.

I am not in the least suggesting that the disabled are considered liars; but that they would have to go through such terrible situations is so against human nature that it seems unbelievable.

I hope you are one of the few who become allies in the fight. We need them.

I already am an ally. Unfortunately, In India, the living conditions of the poor elderly are so terrible that to become their fighter seems almost like becoming Sisyphus. But if volunteering at old age homes has taught me anything, then it is that someone has to fight this fight.

A lot of work needs done on just providing people the basics in India, but the slow growth was only made possible because of the colonization of a land by tyrants that was already occupied. Then when the tyrants want to leave the land they bled dry, they don't help clean up.

Are you saying that the tyrants (i.e. the British) made slow growth possible because of colonisation of a land (i.e. India) from (presumably, you think, unauthorised) occupants (i.e. Mughals)?

Happens all the time but not for the reasons you are insinuating. Maybe they don't have a hundred thousand dollars it will take to accommodate you and your chair because the building is a hundred years old. Idiots.
