Sprint and T-Mobile have reached a deal to merge. They're betting regulators will allow the U.S. wireless market to shrink to just 3 big players.https://nyti.ms/2rb0E27

#Sprint and #TMobile as the stories says are merging. Unfortunately no Sprint or TMobile customers know yet, because they can’t get service...

This needs to happen as keeping #TMobile and #Sprint separate only protects both #ATT and #Verizon from a company that can properly compete with them in the #wireless #cellular market. The #merger will help develop innovation and advance America's communication infrastructure.

That sounds like monopoly and the consumers are always the losers.

In Germany, we have 3 players (Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica) for since ever. The Internet-to-price ratio is a mess, but all in all three works. Worth noting: Telefonica is just available as it's german subsidiaries (Eplus, O2, Aldi-Talk, …). All with very different rates.

3 players? Well there goes the competition. I hope the regulators struck not down.
