"These are truly uncharted waters for the country. We have in the past argued over the values to be applied to objective reality, or occasionally over what constituted objective reality, but never the existence or relevance of objective reality itself."

The fact that Trump makes all these CIA, NSA, and other intelligence community types look reasonable, responsible, and trustworthy says it all. These are the guys who brought us countless foreign coups and manipulated a million free elections. But they're still better than Trump!

How do you run an op-ed on truth by a CIA sociopath whose career was built on blurring distinctions between truth and lies...along with lying to Congress, torture, and extrajudicial murder?

Those that continue to support this pres without calling out his lies +absurdities r contributing to the normalization of post truth or alternative facts. It will not end well for us, I fear. It is disheartening to see intelligent, moral people sweep his fallacies under the rug.

Possibly the most intelligent (pun intended) analysis I've read about the state of our democracy.

Excellent piece. As a lawyer, my stock in trade is truth, evidence and logic. All of these are under siege by Trumpism. Everyone needs to do their part to keep the flame of rational thinking alive in these trying times.

How can you ever claim to be an unbiased "news" source when every single opinion piece on the president is negative? Why should anyone trust your rag when it makes is clear that it's a partisan media outlet?

You didn't read this opinion piece, did you. Figures. People who don't care about Trump's lies don't get it and don't want to get it. Lies are bad for our democracy, that's the only negative thing reported here. Stop playing the victim and pay attention.

Ask Barack Obama, His briefings were very simple, his lies became truth for everybody else. Just ask Ben Rhodes he says he told the truth all the time. Even when he was lying.
