While tragic, the difficulty in this case will be proving that diverting the flight would have changed the outcome. I doubt it would have, and doubt the plaintiffs can prove it would have. I also doubt the “faulty” equipment would have changed the outcome either.

Three doctors on the plane begged the pilot to divert the plane.

Even if the pilot was negligent, they also have to prove that the negligence more likely than not CAUSED her death, and that will be exceptionally difficult to do. My guess is they settle for low six figures.

Interesting I’ve had 3 incidents with AA in the last 6 months and DVT issues I told the customer service rep better training on blood clots and air travel is needed. These clots are severe in flight...this is a heartbreaking case and I hope now @AmericanAir makes some changes.

The on ground physician needs to also be sued as I have never had another physician refuse another’s urgent request in my experience as an RN.

For them same reason a married man would be referred to as Mr. Neither one suggests marital status.

I was on flight DL 1132 on 3/3/18 when a passenger had a medical issue. Flight attendants reacted quickly to a doctor who was on board and brought oxygen. The tank was empty. Fortunately we were still on the ground and EMT's responded.
