A man given 20 months to live is still alive 10 years later, free of cancer. But the surgically implanted chemo pump that saved his life, and saved or prolonged other lives as well, is being taken off the market. Doctors don't know what to do.https://nyti.ms/2HuhNhs

Because it works, no money to be made here, time to scrap it and find a better money maker.

Yeah big pharma does that. Break the patent and print the damn thing on a 3 d printer. Anytime big pharma pulls a patented drug or invention from the market the patent needs to go into public domain. Either sell it or give it up. Dogs in the manger a bad look.

Ah man. Is there ever any good news for people afflicted by cancer? 😔 we need more billionaire philanthropists to commit massive funds to research and development of treatments. Imagine if we committed as much money to it as we do war.

Agree with you 100%. Committing those sorts of funds would help enormously in the war against cancer even if it didn't cure all types and its a much better cause.

Clear case for a stronger hand for government regulation . Not possible under Trump, but it's time to stop merely being reactive (in what we think & how we plan). A proactive government needs to look out for the interests of people, particularly their health.
