The protests weren't organised by Hamas. And what do you mean when you say armed Israeli troops "defended" the fence against unarmed protestors? This headline is misleading and shameful.

are you really out here saying hamas didn’t organize the entire event? that’s just plain ignorance, they’re the ones who have been posting about it etc. and i’d love to hear how it’s unarmed, but i can’t hear over the molotov cocktails.

Hamas didn't organize the Great Return March, several civil organizations together did. Molotov cocktails (named by US, so I should know) don't make sound. The fires they can cause, do. Apparently NYT also organized the demonstration, as it is posting about it...pic.twitter.com/I9jqivKXdt

Leaving the detail about the use of tear gas before lethal force until the very end of the article seems misleading

This is the 'use of tear gas'. Tear gas grenade embedded in the face of a youth who was critically wounded. A journalist seriously wounded after hit in head by another tear gas grenade. A medical field center tent to treat the wounded attacked with tear gas, incapacitating medicspic.twitter.com/fuLhuNyBcX

Seven or eight hours ago it was reported that he was 'in an unstable condition'. He would need to get to treatment abroad.

He needs highly specialized care that is gonna require lots of reconstruction And he’s already had his open wound exposed to bacteria. So high risk of sepsis. He needs antibiotics and supportive care.

"Protecting a fence" is nowhere in the Hague Convention or Geneva Convention in the very narrow criteria of when an occupier *might* be able to legally use force against occupied civilians, let alone lethal force, & of course you know that
