Shout out to the Evansville, IN senior prosecutors who ridiculed law intern me in 1988 when I asked them if they would ever use DNA evidence in their cases. #IBelieve in #science. #GoldenStateKiller

What made you ask him? Timothy W Spencer case, or something else. Just curious. I'm fascinated.

No - nothing to do with a particular case. I had been working in a genetics lab for many years, during a bio undergrad and also law school, and it was a reasonable approach in my mind. When they laughed, I was totally surprised. But now that I know lawyer-egos... :-)

I'm very happy they caught #EARONS, he killed my mom's cousin but this spotlights the privacy issues allowed by the TOS ppl agree to when submitting their DNA to these companies. They are building a national, searchable database of non criminals and ppl are submitting voluntarily

I'm thrilled #GoldenStateKiller was finally arrested. But let's be clear: Facebook & Google have our data, which they're monetizing while jeopardizing our privacy. 23&Me & Ancestry charge us to give them our DNA which they then give away for free to law enforcement.
