It's his parents' choice, not the government's.

Every single medical professional has explained that the poor baby is going to die. The doctors clearly have the best interest of the child at heart. It’s very difficult for the parents but is it really in the best interest for the child to keep him alive?
-
I trust the parents more than the doctors when it comes to who is most interested in what is right for their own child.
-
Then I'm sorry to say but you're a fool

It’s one thing to stop providing care to a child, it’s another thing to outright demand a child die. Socialized medicine is immoral.
-
So is a health care system which bankrupts a high proportion of those that use it.

Why on earth would the government prevent a family from seeking treatment elsewhere? Such a government has waaaay too much power.
-
Because it will cause more harm for the child who’s condition is terminal
-
Still is it not the parents choice

Let the doctors show the data!! Lets have the Italians in to do their own assessment before it is too late.
-
They did. And decided that the only care they could offer is palliative. US doctors ALSO previously stated that their tx would likely not show any improvement.
-
So how come the Italian connection?
-
Last I saw, the child’s family thanked the hospital for the care provided to their child, thanked those who support them, and said they will issue no further statements or interviews.
-
You know more than me only watching on here right now.
-
Gotcha. It’s a sad story but it’s been painfully politicized d/t emotional responses and medical misunderstanding.

should be the parent's decision not the state's

Doctors said he has no chance of getting better. His brain is damaged. Take him home, fine. The Italian doctors will tell him the same.
-
The Point is it is not the doctor's choice or the government s !what if it was your child or grandchildren

what's the medical training of the parents?
-
You can have more degrees than a thermometer, doesn’t mean you have high moral authority. Parents should decide, especially when doctors elsewhere are willing to provide him care.
-
In this case it does because they believe he can improve based on nothing
