They learned that statistically, they had neither the sample size nor the time frame necessary to come to any reasonable conclusion?

This article is actually wrong. The basic income will stop as planned in the end of 2018, and then they will analyze the feedback and results. Then gov will make their decisions and possible changes into basic income.

Bit of a clickbait title considering the content of the article.

They learned what a number of countries already knew, which is that dependency does not create happiness, success, or prosperity. It only creates a deficit of monetary and human capital, as well as a real problem when multiple generations have been subject to the "generosity".

It seems like a stupid experiment. They never had enough people in the study, they selected them randomly, and they didn't pay them enough to live on. Without looking at the results, Finland learned nothing.

Concern that Finnish youth would stay at home & play video games w/o Startish a job proved oft correct; these Steppenwolves were "porn to be wild" - Finland's test of universal basic income – free money, sans strings, will end this year. What was learned?https://nyti.ms/2HpeWq9

Well... Considering that you can earn quite a lot of money by playing video games professionally... I kinda fail to see why that would necessarily be a bad thing (unless it turns into an addiction, of course, but you can get that with regular office work as well, ie workaholics).

We aren't there yet. This is an example of something that may become necessity someday for the sake of our species. It's a futurist idea though, meant for the future. There are far too many obstacles still in the way today.

With good reason, the idea of a 'utopia' will be difficult to make tangible. What reason does any person have to trust such a concept? Perhaps the closest documented instance in human history of such a thing is Adam and Eve....

In a similar vein, large pieces of our population are primed (through their faith) to discount a harmonious human experience on Earth outright, because such a development would directly contradict what they see as prophecy.

For folks that take these predictions so seriously as they devote their lives to them, the closer we get to a healed world, the closer we get to their devil.

That is one whopper of an obstacle to progress. And one magnificent 'whoops' made by the folks who structured the Bible. An amazing example of how goodwill toward man can eventually backfire if given 1-2 thousand years.
