The American cops should go for re-training in Canada.

Twice in 24 hours two people intent on killing people did it without firing a shot. James Shaw Jr was unarmed. Officer Lam who started his shift assigned to traffic duty used his training to deescalate instead of using his.

The training was created via the report- after the conviction of a Toronto Police officer for the murder of Sammy Yatim.https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2016/02/24/toronto-police-board-creates-new-mental-health-committee.html …

In the US we have the term suicide by cop. People tell the cops to shoot them or try to make the cop shoot them. In Canada when the perpetrator says shoot me the cop stays level headed and knows that he's worth more to them alive. The cop deserves a medal.

That is just spectacular. The control. The humanity. It’s so very powerful and a deep reflection on the state of fear we have cultivated in the U.S. WTFG Canada!

You really can’t help but think that if this had happened in the US, the the cop would have simply shot him. Also, the murderer probably would have had an automatic weapon & killed with a gun instead of a vehicle. We can learn from Canada.

In the US Police would “toast” the guy right over the spot with a shower of bullet and hundreds of masked police officers would show up to show off their war machine weapons !!!
