If you want to maintain credibility as a news source, you must CHALLENGE THIS BS: Mr. Reinking is white, and the four victims were either African-American or Hispanic, but Mayor David Briley of Nashville said he had no reason to believe that these were racially motivated killings

‘Instead, Mr. Briley said, there was “enough indication that there was some element of mental illness associated with it.”’ STOP REPEATING THIS NARRATIVE UNCHALLENGED. It is DOMESTIC TERRORISM. You think ISIS members don’t have mental health issues?

Mental health is an important contributing factor that drives people to commit these acts, and certainly needs more attention and support in society. But I do not believe it should ever be referenced as primary root cause.

Have they arrested his father? His father knew about his son's mental health. His father gave him his guns back. His father apparently did not secure the weapons, so his son could not get to them. The father is just as guilty.

BINGO. Start with the guns and then you start the murders. Thank you for bringing this key point up. Furthermore, all the victims were black and James Shaw Jr. of all heroes (this is someone you want being near you then) and yet Donald J Trump HAS NOT spoke of it or praising him

Not a word from @realDonaldTrump about the white guy killing 4 people of color #HateCrimes, nor a word about the black man who stopped this madness and saved lives. Trump says he's the least racist person ever, he has proven to be the opposite. James Shaw Jr. you are a HERO!!!pic.twitter.com/GfWSLNPv6m

his father - into his care the police had put his guns - GAVE THEM BACK TO HIM. they should *both* be charged with terrorism & hate crime & murder. And the hero (a POC, thankyouverymuch,) should be given a medal by Congress.

This is why strict gun laws are questionable. Bad guys will find a way to commit a crime. Strict gun laws really only impact law abiding citizens. Now on the subject of race in this, it doesn’t and shouldn’t matter. 4 HUMANS were murdered. That’s really the only race here

The "strict" law would be not giving the firearms back to a family member, then the shooter wouldn't have gotten his guns back. And humans ARE the only race, but racism is still real, and that appears to be a factor: 4 humans WERE murdered, seemingly because of their race.

Hypothetical questions (answer if you want): Is it possible that I'm only jumping to conclusions because he's white? And, be honest, if it was some guy from the middle east killing people, and someone said it's a terrorist attack, would you also call that jumping to conclusions?

Likely jumping to conclusions because the shooter is white. And I don’t assume all people from the Middle East are terrorists. Maybe you do. I look at murder as murder. A “human” is taking the life of another human. I refuse to be boxed into a category

I didn't say all people, and I'm not boxing. I'm saying we have to be objective about everyone, and human beings haven't been objective most of the time we've been making these calls. I webt to extremes to try to make that point, and I probably should have been direct
