While Professor Kogan “was helping turn Facebook profiles into a political tool he was also an associate professor at St Petersburg State University, taking Russian government grants to fund other research into social media.”https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/mar/17/cambridge-academic-trawling-facebook-had-links-to-russian-university?CMP=share_btn_tw …

“Stress, health, and psychological wellbeing in social networks: cross-cultural investigation” was the title of one piece of research. Online posts showed Kogan lecturing in Russian. One talk was called: “New methods of communication as an effective political instrument”.

Chris Wylie says Kogan WAS HIRED by Bannon & Nix to harvest the data that would become the foundation of Cambridge Analytica. @60Minutes never pressed Kogan on the FACT that he represented to FB that his app was for R&D purposes when it was to harvest the data & sell it to CA.

I have grown to really distrust the narrow education IT people seem to have. They are always surprised at the bad outcomes they cause and so quick to declare themselves innocent dupes.

When Google willing used the data it collected to help obama,no problem. Problem here Facebook data was used by Cambridge analytics to help Trump campaign. That is the mistake the left cannot accept.
