As Facebook pushes into developing countries, it tends to be initially received as a force for good. But Facebook’s greatest impact may be in amplifying universal tendencies toward tribalism.https://nyti.ms/2JeWVax

Facebook will have a genocide on its hands if it doesn’t take drastic measures.Rwandan radio had no where near the power of the fake stories and images Facebook has made possible.FB has revolutionary chance to get poor communities objective info or become deadly vector for hate.

Sad but true. I have strong ties to Indonesia, and it is as tribal as it gets there. Lots of “fake news“ with a relatively uneducated general population (fourth largest country in the world right behind the US), racial and religious factions. “Tinder Box” indeed

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” You can only have peace in your heart through Jesus, Repent Call on Jesus.

How in hell’s name can THAT even happen? Sorry. I do not mean to minimize this situation. A well known deficiency on faceyplace is failure to communicate. Eh. Oh, let us denote the internet’s fatal communication flaws...Oh, mores! Oh, tempora!

And the sky may fall down tomorrow but it probably won’t. If that’s all you can write about then you’ve got a pretty lame newspaper there. Try exposing the Australian Government’s long term socio-economic exclusion of Epileptics despite 3 calls from WHO to cease
