People want to buy stuff cheap. They feel bad about all the suffering people, but they will still buy cheap

Buying cheap is a false economy. Good quality clothing lasts.

The implication of your title is that “non-cheap shirts” are produced in better working conditions. Is that so? Hard to know as you don’t name them. Don’t companies like Ralph Lauren and Ivanka Trump also exploit??

Eat nutritiously, spend carefully. Live as close to nature as you can under your circumstances and we just might have enough time to fix our problems.

It would be interesting to travel the lifecycle of a cheap shirt....from when it’s made to when it finally ends up being thrown away. We are facing a crisis of too much stuff...and it’s exacerbated by the availability of almost disposable clothing.

How many times do we talk about this only to find nothing changes? Until you can convince American consumers and businesses there is a better and more budget friendly way for us to save money, this will continue.

I wonder if they would rather work in the conditions they have or not have conditions to work in...if consumers turn their $ away from places like Bangladesh- businesses will close or modernize...either way fewer jobs. (I get perfect world- fix conditions and still work)

Dit ontkende ik ook niet. Mijn stelling is alleen: duurder is niet veel beter. Daarom stuurde ik dat rapport met misstanden in Europese sweatshops.

The social costs are high because the implementation of modern technology is not advancing or even hindered on purpose Bangladeshis would not have to toil in dangerous factories would the production be automated, shirts could still be sold at cheap possibly even cheaper prices
