There is no $17 reason to go to Staten Island.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client would never dump a body in Staten Island. He has better sense than to pay a $17 for a toll. I will prove why my client, Mr. Costanza, would never pay that.”

what do you mean, “may be”? isn’t this is a quantifiable, verifiable thing?

This is so misleading. 1. Staten Island residents only pay $5.50 to cross the narrows. 2. NJ residents who use the bridge more then 3x a month can pay $6.25 to cross the narrows bridge. Only infrequent drivers pay $17
-
most jersey drivers are coming from the goth, outer bridge,or Bayonne how often is jersey driver going to the narrows
-
All those bridges along with narrows also qualify for the $6.25 discount. I would know since I use that discount.
-
Also no mention that they get the only free ferry in the city. I don’t begrudge them that, but the article emphasizes free East River bridges like it’s special and leaves out the enormous ferries!

Lazy residents unwilling to call ,email ,testify against it with their elected representatives. They tried and passed tolls on local bridge ,never happened. Follow the $$ , who profits off tolls and sue them for extortion, fraud. Or sheeple say bahhh
-
Or pass bonds and tax measures to pay for our infrastructure. These things don’t build themselves.

It's not like our billions in taxes didn't already pay for this bridge. Taxpayers are getting fleeced again.

For a Bridge that has been paid off! I still can’t see how they justify $17

Only $3.20 per vehicle for car pooling Staten Islanders. Why the hand waving?

It pales in comparison to the 50 bucks or so you’ll pay on the Oresund bridge between Denmark and Sweden.
