The $17 toll to drive across the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Staten Island from Brooklyn may be the most expensive bridge crossing in the countryhttps://nyti.ms/2Hg8i5q

I’d spend $17 to get OFF Staten Island.

Be prepared for a lot more of this if Trump has his way on infrastructure.

LOL, nothing to do with Trump. This is just standard New York wastefulness. Like paying subway construction workers $400 an hour and having no show/featherbedded jobs.

Shows how distorted this escalating horrid funny money economy has bankrupt and dislocated so many working families that are at wits end trying to provide for the needs of their families. Rents, housing, health care, utilities, food etc are bankrupting so many 👀🙉💥💥

I think this is more like road pricing or a congestion charge. Tolls are supposed to finance infrastructure and considering that the Verrazano opened in 1964 I’m sure it’s been paid for a hundred times over.

They need to put a bike/pedestrian path on it. Oh wait, I see how this works now. It's not about convenience.

You’re not forced to use the bridge, you can always resort to the sluggish ferry.

Actually we are forced. MTA tolls for bridge subsidize subways which we have no direct access to. If subway riders were forced to pay actual cost of rides, there would be riots in the streets.

SINCE THERE IS SO MUCH TRAFFIC ON THIS BRIDGE AND IT'S OBVIOUS THAT THE POPULATION OF STATEN ISLAND HAS RISEN, WHY NOT BUILD ANOTHER BRIDGE. TRAFFIC IS A NIGHTMARE ON THIS BRIDGE. TOLLS R OUTRAGEOUS IN NY TO BEGIN WITH.
