There was a time airlines hired high quality U.S technicians known as A&P mechanics to work on their airplanes, today they subcontract to the lowest bidder. D&C inspections (most complex of all) are done in Mexico by who knows who, airlines don't want you to know.

Military training pays off again-bravo to Capt. Shults for her heroic effort; the episode however, does change my view on window seats-it's the aisle seat for me from now on whenever possible.
