*their* Being on parole is part of the sentence time imposed by a judge. A pardon circumvents the judge’s decision.

Why should felons, parolees, ppl in jail currently be stripped of their voting rights? Why does 'consent if the governed' not extend to these ppl? We want rehab for criminals, exercising rights is a good moral thing to do

So, sounds like your cool with felons exercising their 2A rights while incarcerated or on parole too.

I never understood why a person looses his rights to vote just by going to prison, even less do I understand why they still lost them after serving their time.

And for that they serve time, that has nothing to do with loosing democratic rights as well. They are still member of the community.

So then.... Prison isn't for rehabilitation? No second chances, ever? That seems very primitive no?

Well that's a terrible system. We've created a permanent underclass of ppl in society for life. Akin to slavery and Jim crow. That system alone breed more crime if ppl have no other prospects. Not very simple as you say

@NYGovCuomo to issue pardons to the perpetrators of crimes against NYers . Rapists, robbers, burglars, murderers, and other assorted criminals. All for a few votes. It's the New York way !

This is not the case. But even if they were, why shouldn't they be restored their voting rights after doing their time?

That being said, I don't like the way he went abt this. It was a stunt. We need auto voter registration + maximize the rights of citizens to vote Bc voting doesn't cause physical harm to anyone it should b maximized. Firearms have that potential, so limitations should b in place.

Why would Governor of New York pardon 35K Felons? Also. Why would citizens of New York allow him to pardon Felons? Crime Rates are going up in New York.
