        Her tireless work for literacy was inspirational to me. During 41’s admin I volunteered for Literacy America, teaching illiterate adults to read and write. She was a class act and a wonderful matriarch. One needn’t agree with Bush family politics to acknowledge her achievements.

        I read this. This is a great picture, too. I voted for GHWB via absentee ballot while at college. Barbara Bush reminded me a lot of my grandmother, who died on 4-11 three years ago. My grandmother was very outspoken, opinionated, yet very ethical. And she was an atheist.
