        That's my worst flying nightmare, something compromising the cabin. I just flew Southwest on Sunday. So sorry to hear someone lost their life. Much praise for the pilots for landing safely.

        Please note this article the next time your newspaper is tempted to run a story about 1-person cockpits (or planes w/o flight crews). It took a team of 2, one flying, one handling the radios and performing the checklists. 2 heads, better than one when it all starts to go bad...

        Yes, it's essentially the original meaning of the word - https://www.etymonline.com/word/career . MW's 2nd def. is "to go at top speed especially in a headlong manner." I grew up using "careen" for that meaning, but careen originally applied specifically to ships. https://www.etymonline.com/word/careen
