How about mentioning the reason for his self-immolation in your headline, or at least your tweet? He did it as an act of protest for our collective failure to do anything about our ecological crisis.

He left a note next to the site of his act of protest detailing why he was doing it. He emailed the note to multiple news organizations. You have the responsibility to publish the letter.
-
Instead, you write multiple articles glossing over the reason he did it, and questioning his true motives. What a lack of respect for a man did an act of tremendous courage to shine light on a planetary crisis that most of us are essentially ignoring.
-
I thought the article did a good job of explaining his reasons while balancing it with his potential mental illness. Cant condone suicide, but self-immolation takes a lot of strength/sends a message that other means cant. If his letter was so important why didn't you post it?
-
That's a very good question. Why might that be?
-
I think obviously the case is under investigation... If you inmolate yourself as an ultimate act of protest, as buddist monks did in the past, you don't do it in the middle of the night in an empty park where NOBODY can see you...ABSURD SOUNDS TO ME he had made some enemies...RIP

I'm impossible to have any respect for our country with these evil climate denying monsters in charge.

VERY SUSPICIOUS I suppose police is investigating this as a possible murder. Inmolation as an ULTIMATE VISUAL ACT OF PROTEST done in the middle of the night in the middle of an empty and lonely park?... This lawyer walked through this park everyday 2 times. EASY VICTIM to enemies

Anyone can send an email... come on! You send emails to newspapers at 5h50 a.m. in the last monent of your life because you WANT YOUR ULTIMATE ACT OF PROTEST TO BE MEDIATIC ... BUT You inmolate in the middle of the night in a lonely park where FOR SURE NO ONE CAN SEE/HEAR YOU...

Heartbreaking. There was definitely something more sinister going on with him. Mental health matters

The irony, literally left in the world in a carbon foot-print. Not very well thought out, I’d say.

But it is the truth about the human condition. Heartbreakingly sad and tragic.

Why does this sound exactly like the beginning of She Hate Me? So very troubling.
