True movie stars can “open” a film of any quality simply by having their name above the title. Dwayne Johnson proved himself as one over the weekend.https://nyti.ms/2H5uUS8

Give me a break. Hollywood has been making crap for over a decade and people have simply lowered their standards. This in no way makes Johnson a quality actor.

Lol didn’t Black Panther grind Jumanji into dust last month?

And? Jumanji was still an entertaining family movie. My teen loved it. Sometimes a little silliness is a good thing.

Cool story. Don’t know what that has to do with his credibility as an actor or Big-draw.

What about Baywatch? Don't sideline the effort put into the movie by the writer, director and crew. A sensibly produced good movie always wins despite Star Actors or not.

How do people know it’s a good film when no one has seen it before it came out?

So the few thousand who saw it in advance were the people who drove the millions to see it the first weekend? Also, do you think it would do the same business if say, Taylor Kitsch was the star instead?

        1. Didn’t answer the questions. 2. $177m box office for $70m budget movie isn’t a flop. Would it have done the same with no-name actors?
