        Why aren't conservatives interested more so? unless it involves stopping people from enjoying their genitals I guess with threat of government force, or restricting a woman's rights to kill their fertilized eggs, then they suddenly get very interested.

        I’m pretty sure being able to say the word genital the same as you say the word elbow is not an obsession but rather just a healthy way to talk about body parts.

        Saving things because they are anomalous or distinctive is probably not the way to go. Probably we need to be looking at the things uniquely impacted by human activity.

        Take your point about the stupid ‘Extra attention to weird things’ comment - but the Murray Darling basin is extremely impacted by human activity. It also covers about 14% of Australia’s landmass (Its larger than the combined size of France and Germany). It’s a big deal.
