Pope Francis has apologized for "grave errors" in the handling of sexual abuse cases in Chile, where he had adamantly defended a bishop accused of covering up abuse by the country's most notorious pedophile priest https://nyti.ms/2HsAWgk

Sorry Rob, I truly respect your faith. But this guy only said something when the media was all over him and still he hasn't changed a thing in the chilean church. Just pretty words.

I'm chilean, I've been following the whole thing. I saw live when he demanded "proof" to the víctims. Yes, he sent R. Scicluna to investigate, but until today bishop Barros, cardinal Ezzati and the apostholic nuncio are still on their positions.

Sorry. I haven't been there yet, but I will promise. Just think about it. If he just goes in there and fires everybody without conducting a full investigation. That wouldn't be fair or http://smart.Trust  me he want those guys out. He's trying to do without controversy .

As Archbishop of Buenos Aires he received thousands of accusations and buried them inside a desk. Among his best friends are a woman that abandoned husband and family to move in with a bishop. I don't trust Bergoglio one bit.

Apparently my admiration for Pope Francis has pissed off some of my friends from Chile. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, and religious beliefs. At least that's how it works here in America. For now ... I am alway respectfully to everyone, and expect that in return.

‘Grave errors’ from a man close to God? Prophets don’t make ‘grave errors’ & neither should popes. Popes today need to put on a suit and stop pretending they are angels. They are men in a politically protected world who ‘hire’ a large percentage of molesters. They also control $.

Please spare me. It’s the same old story from the Catholic Church. Decade after decade of obfuscation.

Pope Francis is a great man. He is not afraid to admit saying he made a mistake. He is a human being. But what sets him a part. His willingness to correct it openly. He has great courage. He has GOD on his side!!

Tell that to the kids he publicly shamed and attacked. As a survivor what he did was unforgivable. We saw his true colors. He's only apologizing because he's been called out on his disgusting behavior. Those kids deserves better from him.

The problem is that underneath those robes are men with natural sexual needs and desires. They force themselves to deny their bodies what is naturally, God given. So that denial is not of God it is a trick of Satan. How else can a man sworn to serve God harm His children?
