Mark Zuckerberg's testimony did little to mollify lawmakers, who called for new regulations that would limit Facebook’s ability to collect data on users without permission and to make privacy policies clearhttps://nyti.ms/2JBpQX8

Ok, but how much did the senators (majority) in the 55+ age range REALLY understand what they were asking/hearing? I'd argue there is definitely a generation gap in that subject area.

Trying to explain the nuances of social media to my 60 yr old parents, in a way that doesn't completely horrify them, is a really difficult tightrope walk. I can only imagine the briefings young staff had with these senators to educate them on the subject. Probably weirrdddd.

“Mr. Zuckerberg, this pop up came on my screen three days ago and won’t go away. Is it safe to exit out without getting a computer virus?” Pretty much the whole line of questioning.

The appalling lack of knowledge by senior U.S. politicians should be a bigger issue here. Facebook absolutely needs regulations, but regulations by politicians who barely understand what an internet is? Ugh.

It’s more than Facebook our Government is so embarrassingly behind the times and lacks any understanding of technology. All of them should retire (both parties) and our Government should collaborate with experts b part of a solution.
