It was an iron rule for candidates in rural areas and in red states: Don't antagonize the NRA. But that was before the Parkland massacre.https://nyti.ms/2GR3PGb

Lol. The NRA has "something to do" with every instance of gun violence in the United States. Their tireless lobbying is the reason guns are omnipresent in American life.

Please the second amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms. Take a history class and see that after the British Governor gauge sent a 700 man army to disarm the colonies is why we have the second amendment...

Brilliant, Kenneth, thank you. I prefer to follow current events, in which school children are being slaughtered and politicians sit on their hands, using your centuries-old musket laws as justification. ;)

You want solutions great me to. 90 percent of mass shootings happen in gun free zones...time to do something about the environment in which these crimes take place.

Gun free zones are such an irrelevant right-wing bogeyman. People shoot because guns are easy to get and it requires very little thought to pull a trigger when a shooter is pissed off. The right wants a world where everybody is packing heat, making the USA a guns-mandatory zone.

Then you explain in a rational way with verifiable information as to why most mass shootings happen in gun free zones.

Most normal people don't carry their rifle with them to school. They never will. These deranged individuals get off on killing kids. Period. Let's make it much harder starting now for these people to go get a rapid fire weapon to massacre people with.

Why the wait after the Sandy Hook massacre? 26 Elementary students and teachers seemed like a real good time to stop the idiocy! Truthfully, I thought Columbine was enough for all but the most dimwitted. Guns that can shoot more than 6 rounds before a reload aren't needed.

My reading of US politics is elections are decided by the number of (mostly democrat) young people & POC who stay home. Supporting gun control is likely to get students & Black Moms to the voting booth
