What’s up with all of the people on this thread attacking the @nytimes for running an advice column? It’s been a staple of newspapers since there have been newspapers. Ever heard of “Dear Abby”? The first advice column dates back to 1690.

Really, if you’re going to criticize the NYT for running this, it just makes you look like you haven’t read a lot of newspapers in your lifetime.
-
I’d also wager that anyone voicing a legitimate complaint hasn’t read a physical copy of the New York Times in their life (or many copies of any other paper).

... So... This is news? No. She doen’t HAVE to visit him. But even if you don’t agree with his politics, he’s family. And he’s dying. Get over this PC bullsh*t and go see your Uncle. What if he didn’t come see you because he didn’t like your anti-Trump posts? Exactly.

False equivalence, sorry
-
How so? Facebook post = Facebook post. Are you implying it’s a different level of offensiveness? Well guess what buddy - that’s subjective. Not a false equivalency. They are both text on a screen, and that’s all they are. Swallow your hurt feelings

If someone is posting hateful racial content that insults your race, they are in fact insulting you personally.
-
Uh. Okay? I never said otherwise. Stating loosely connected facts (or so they are called) that all parties are aware of doesn’t help a discussion. But right now I’m seeing a discussion about feelings versus blood. He’s dying. Go see him. You’re butthurt. We all know.

I wouldn’t venture into the ‘alt-right = white supremist’ territory. That’s dangerous. And I didn’t mean butthurt about specifically racism, stop narrowing the view. I was talking about being offended by a dead (or dying) persons words or beliefs. There’s just no point.

Dangerous? It is the commonly held definition of Alt Right. Check a dictionary:https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/alt-right …

I remember when the NY times put news in the newspaper

Right? It’s like they’re oblivious to the massive panda crisis we’re facing now.pic.twitter.com/OfNNpo5WZ9

If someone is toxic to you, you have the right to cut them out of your life. Life's too short to deal with evil people. Positive vibes only!
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

“Dangerously Facebook-Active.” You people are a joke.

That phrase struck me as ridiculous too.

This is what the new york times posts these days. Id love to see examples of this hate mongering and to see its actually hate mongering and not just further ignorance of the left. To not visit someone on their deathbed because of online political views sums up the left.
