I quit mine nearly 2 years ago and the withdrawals were horrible! I had all kinds of symptoms like a vibration every time i moved or a weird twinge in my eyes and all throughout my whole body

Going through that now. Would never had gone on this medication if I knew withdrawal was so hideous.

It sucks! Took almost a month or so for it to stop! And it was every time I moved my eyes to focus or any part of my body! It was a living nightmare! I wish you a faster recovery than I had! It’s worth it when it’s done! Hang in there and don’t give up!!

Thanks. I’m on week 3 of weaning off, 3 more weeks to go and then I’ll be off this. I’ve been reading a lot about this lately and a lot of people say the withdrawals are even worse for weeks after stopping. So angry I was never told by my doctor about this.

I was never told either! I was was on Zoloft at 200 mgs a day for 5 years and I don’t think it ever really helped. But I am finding happiness every day and doing ok!! When you are on the medication it’s like a daily reminder of being told that we are messed up and I got sickofit!

So glad you’re doing so well! That’s encouraging. I’ve been on Cymbalta for 2 years. Really don’t think it helped, just made me emotionally numb.

Medical Drs need to stop prescribing and stop the diagnosing of mental health conditions. Unless their education includes a degree in psychiatry. Antidepressants r dangerous they affect your brain chemistry and you can’t just stop taking them. Rarely are patients informed fully.

Agreed, it only makes sense but I'm thinking a huge number of folks get turned off at the thought of seeing a mental health specialist.

If it’s a mental health condition then that’s the kind of dr they need. You can’t go to a dentist to have a broken arm set. A GP tried to give it to my friend for migraines! Her neurologist flipped when she told him! We need to be responsible for our own education. Sad but true.

If you reduce your dosage slowly, like you’re supposed to, you don’t have that problem. People who try to go off cold turkey are asking for problems.

Many people taking lifesaving heart medication cannot quit because of withdrawal symptoms. FIFY. (because it's a necessary medication that saves people's lives and should be taken seriously as such, FFS)
