        If a judge approved a warrant based on probable cause, which is what had to have happened, it’s legal.

        It means there is some sort of evidence. In this case likely the public statements made by Cohen. If law enforcement have evidence in a crime they generally are able to get a search warrant. Doesn't always lead to more evidence. We will see what this leads to.
