I was told on a yearly review that I was ‘too confident’. I challenged that as a general comment but it remained on my review. I left the team soon after that. Q. Has a man ever been told he was ‘too confident?’ Out if interest really?

Hi Miki - you're not 'too' anything. Be yourself. clearly you're very good at your job. It's meant to keep you small. Ignore. It sounds like a lack of confidence on someone else's part.

Perhaps male employees are better employees.

That's a convenient explanation that's sure to sit well with your ego I guess

BAHAHA.
@nytimes did the same thing to Hillary Clinton - "she's not trustworthy. She's not likable. She's abrasive. She's too aggressive." - 1 more reply

one NYT article is not going to change implicit bias. I was told I have an "edge" and can be "flippant." I am a trial lawyer. Other words for same behavior: decisive; in control; zealous advocate; authority on subject matter; humorous; dry wit; engaging. Potato po-tah-to.

In the past I've gotten feedback that I'm both too shrill and too happy ("smile less").

Well duh. When men don’t have a solid criticism of a woman’s argument or performance they knee jerk into criticizing her appearance & behavior. PS women could have told you that & saved you $$ on the “study”

Hmm, and wasn't it the
@NYT new political editor who coined the demeaning, obnoxious, phrase the "Clinton Cackle"?https://www.mediamatters.org/blog/2018/03/06/ny-times-election-coverage-2018-and-2020-will-be-bad-it-was-2016/219564 …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Coming from NYT? This is hilarious, considering how they treat female politicians and pundits.
