A sociologist chronicled the human toll of eviction in Milwaukee in a 2016 book. A new project may reveal just how widespread the problem is in the U.S. https://nyti.ms/2GFBOkJ pic.twitter.com/oUQ4NHxQ1R

Evicting people is costly. Landlords are in business to make money, not lose money, so making a decision that costs them money is not taken lightly. Landlords evict people because they are not paying their rent or they are causing other problems, like destroying the property.

The problem with evictions started with the GOVERNMENT. It was the GOVERNMENT that EVICTED MILLIONS OF ABORIGINALS off their land in the 1800 by giving MILLIONS OF ACRES OF LAND to Europeans for FREE! So now most of the landlords in America are WHITE FOLKS. Is that Fair?! NOT

People forget the landlord's side in these discussions. I'm glad the NYT included the landlord's perspective. The margins are not high to begin with in low-cost housing. A bad tenant can easily cost several thousands in neglectful damage, aside from missing rent.pic.twitter.com/FsbggzXwFa

Now those horrible racist white people are racistly not getting themselves evicted by doing things like paying their rent, not destroying the properties, and abiding by the terms of the lease. #WhitePrivilegepic.twitter.com/R3uIfc3dlX

Evictions (or losing a tenant for any reason) costs a landlord money. No, they aren't evicting people "intentionally" -- that's just stupid. Even a missed rent check is not going to get an eviction, unless there is a history or other reasons to want the tenant gone.pic.twitter.com/nhx9qoiOAR

Solution: more mass immigration of poor, unskilled, poorly-educated, non-English-speaking people from dysfunctional backgrounds. Or, we could work on solving the dysfunction we already have in America before we import more of it.pic.twitter.com/bvigMitvgF

To help people avoid eviction and the consequences it leads to must be in all parties interests.
