Big mistake. A) he's a great coach. B) the media loves him as do his players. C) who are you going to replace him with? John Tortorella?

Time will tell. I'm not a fan of pulling the plug on a good/great coach based on one off year.

Well, you could be right. We'll see. Hit me back if your tweets get confirmed by the new coach & a successful year. I'd be happy to eat crow.

Yes, you're right. You didn't make a prediction, but explained the change. Best of luck with the Yankees this year. They look to be an exciting team to follow.

How do you fire the coach after you’ve torched the team that indicated the rest of this season was lost?
-
I guess if you look at teams like Tampa Bay, they have half the Rangers old roster and they're doing well, really well. All the Rangers guys are doing pretty well. Means he played them all wrong. Bad pick ups over the years made the defense suffer too. Lundqvist gets bombarded
-
The Lightening have many people not past Ranger players. When the sell -off started they were only a few points from the playoffs. That’s means it wasn’t totally falling apart. You can’t go through that much turnover and expect immediate results. I actually like the changes.
-
I hope they're better next year. It broke my heart seeing how good the team was the past few years and not win the cup. I feel like returning to that form may not come for a long time and I can't even forsee winning a cup. I hear Tavares is going to be a free agent though :)
-
Me too. I was impressed how after that disappointing start of the season they played themselves right back in. I agree with what you said about the defense. Maybe they have a legitimate goalie to backup the King and succeed him.
-
Yeah, losing Talbot was a big deal. I don't want to admit Lundqvist has declined. I just think he has way more on his plate now and it makes him look worse.
-
The defense this year had declined some I think and he wasn’t getting much help. I think they felt a duty to give Talbot his chance as a #1 elsewhere given he wasn’t going to be here. He was a great backup though.
-
They were pretty bad last year too in my opinion. Shutouts were not uncommon for this team a few years ago when they were finishing #1 overall. Now it's normal to see games where we lose like 5-4 or 6-5. Goals allowed killed us.

Maybe we can have him back in Vancouver!
